A jury sentenced Travis James Mullis, 24, to death on Monday, March 21, 2011. Mullis was convicted of capital murder March 11 by the same jury in Judge John Ellisor’s 122nd District Court in Galveston. Mullis admitted during a videotaped interview with police that he stomped on his 3-month-old son’s head, because it was the only way to keep Alijah from crying.
